The Preposition Song

For Steph since I promised in July... (to the tune of "take me out to the ballgame" as learned in 7th grade language arts class)

About above across after

Against along among around.

At before behind below beneath

Beside between beyond but by down during!

Except for from in inside into,

Near of off on outside,

Over past! to! toward underneath until up with!

Fixodent and try to forget it

Hello beloved family! How is everyone?

Pete AKA Dr. Feelgood (my new guy) took me to France last week; we got back on Sunday. (Ho-hum, "took me to France." Life is so boring. Eeeeeeee!) What an awesome time we had! We did get into a car accident (where the other car flipped) and I broke the crown CLEAN OFF my front tooth (biting into a delicious, chewy French roll) … but with a little help from Avis and my new pal Fixodent we were on our way again. (Ugh, nothing to make you feel less cute than buying Fixodent in front of your boyfriend.) So I get my crown for-real glued back on next Wednesday. Until then every 12 minutes I will be checking to make sure my tooth is still there. In conclusion, wear a mouth guard when you rollerskate or you could live to regret it years into the future.

BTW does anyone know if it’s illegal to ship bottles upon bottles of wine to the states? Because we did that. I guess we’ll find out, right? Hee hee hee. Pshaw to "Federal law prohibits" and all that mallarkey! (SP? on "mallarkey.")

I would love to see Cousin Johnny! Please post here when he will be making his cameo in Ohio.

P.S. Mom: Thank you for checking on my kitties and fish while I was gone. Re your note: Don't worry, no fish died under your care ... there were only two fish before I left. The rest died this Summer during a tragic power outage that probably killed many, many other fish in the Cleveland Heights area. Ugh, the carnage! I shudder at the thought. :)

Love you all--

Possible New Job!

Soon, possibly, I will be hired to do MORE work with FULL benefits!

Road trip

Drove to Youngstown with Cool Hand Sue last Sunday to see Bud and Carol at the Fox house. The Honda looked great. So did Bud, after two chemo treatments, with two to go. I think he'll be ready for a trip to Atlantic City in a couple weeks.
John is still going to deploy to Iraq soon. (Thank you Mr. Bush) He will be coming to Ohio for a few days in early November and Carol will let us know if there is a good day for a quick visit to see him. Joanne and the kids will be staying back in Colorado.
Waiting to hear what the plans are for Thanksgiving dinner, mostly where, we all know the menu. Who wants to be table monitors?
Note the time on this post. Yes I am working hard.

Bridge Day in West Virginia

bridgeday

Woke up at 5am (Mom does it all the time, I can do it too!), drove 5 hrs and I met Mike G. down in West Virginia this weekend for the Bridge Day Festivities. They figured over 200,000 people were there. Over 400 jumpers and over 800 jumps total. Mike managed 4 jumps off the bridge. He volunteered the last two hrs checking people's gear, so when the troopers were forcing people get off the bridge, he jumped. I never actually saw him jump. I never knew what colors he represented and etc. SO many people. There were people dressed up as pig bunnies and one guy as little red riding hood with breasts. I think they were shoved off at every 30 seconds. They had to deploy their shoots 3 seconds from the bridge. There was a diving board as an alternative. There is a picture of Mike jumping off of it, it's on the web some where. Maybe I will update soon and get it linked to here soon.

He is the first four on page three.

It was hot and I probably parked two miles away and there were about a mile of cars behind me.

At the hotel, I helped Mike dry out his floating vinyl device. He landed in the water, he said, because the person before him was less experienced then him, and he or she landed on the landing land. So he was gracious and he said what the heck, I'll get wet. He got me from the hotel (I took a nap.) We grabbed beer, donated the busch lights to random people and dried out his vinyl by holding it high in the air and letting the air have at it. It was unexpectedly relaxing and very toning for the muscles.

Also, the big truck drove behind the hotel and unloaded all the jumping paraphenalia into the parking lot. So Mike offered his muscles and pointed out to me the activities that the other guy was showing off because I was standing there, like over-wrapping some big metal thing that he didn't need to wrap with a canvas belt.

Streakers ran thru the hotel while the rest of us were partying in the lobby of the Holiday Inn.

I crashed at 10:30 PM.

Hello family

Just wanted to say hi and see what people are up to. My roommate and her friends were here this weekend so we went out a lot in London, which reminded me that I live in a fantastic city. But she's gone again so I'm back to studying all the time. I kind of like the quiet, slow lifestyle. What a change from jumping around the country and the world all the time.

In December, I'll be heading to Cleveland for christmas and I'll be there til I finish my dissertation or get a job. We'll see how all that goes. Aevar is so excited to move there too - he loves Cleveland. I'd like to think its because I'm such a great ambassador with a great family.

This picture is taken from the bus, crossing the Thames. Thats the London Eye on the right, a huge ferris wheel. I havent been on it - I've been saving it in case someone came to visit.

where is everyone?

Noone seems to be using our Blogsite.
oh well....on another note.....
I drove down to the Fox household on Saturday to give Jason a muffler for the Honda that somehow got left behind. I also took along a spare seat I had and a spare starter. I wish I could post a picture because ...1...it is almost totally put back together-remember that I had a muffler.....and..2..Jason had shined up all the shiny parts! It looks so pretty...
By now I'm sure Jason and Jim have started it. I will call their house later and give Jason my E-mail address so he can keep me up to date.

Weird!

I am reading a book called Bed Number Ten. It's about a lady's struggle through Guillian-Barre (ghee-yan bah-ray) Syndrome. No big deal her name is Sue (just like my mom's.) But her birthday is June 22nd! Just like my mom's!

across the pond

I'm back in London and just saying hello since jetlag and ill-timed napping keep me from sleeping. Aevar (my BF - boyfriend) is obsessed with Eddie, the male cat in an all-girl Greer world in Lakewood. So he took this photo of Eddie sleeping.

Did I get any photos of my family? Nooooo, but I do have the drunk cat.

Oh Lord

Oh Dear God, I thoroughly hate this particular fundraiser. Malley's is so much easier. It seems nothing can be ordered online without a registration number that I do not have. Either forget it, or I will see you in person. Thanks anyway.

It's RYN not YRN. Sorry.

I tried to send this out individually as e-vites. But let me not tell you what a PAIN IN THE BUTT that was.

challenge to Fox(es)

It seems I sent a spare Harley key to Jason - Karen - and Jim Fox. They wondered if that meant that the Harley was theirs. I have issued a challenge to them. If they ever find the Harley without its fork locked and they drive it away....it belongs to them. As the Harley is my (dirty) Pride and Joy.....I will be looking over my shoulder everytime I park it.

Jason and Jim are also putting the Honda 350 back together --- it kinda was in boxes ---- and I'm sure Karen will post pictures of their progress.
